Privacy
quranbook has no accounts, no advertising and no analytics. What you save is kept on your device. Two things leave it, and only when you use them: a search by meaning, and syncing bookmarks with a code. This page says exactly what each does, for the website and for the quranbook app on iPhone and iPad.
What stays on your device
Your bookmarks, the place you stopped reading, the studies you have opened, your reading settings and, in the app, your highlights are stored on your device — in your browser's local storage on the website, and in the app's own storage on iPhone and iPad. They are not sent to us. Clearing your browser's site data, or deleting the app, removes them.
Literal search runs entirely on your device; nothing you type into it is sent anywhere.
quranbook sets no cookies.
Search by meaning
When you search by meaning, the text of your search is sent to quranbook.ai, turned into a list of numbers by a language model running on Cloudflare Workers AI, and sent back. The comparison with the verses then happens on your device. Your search is used only to answer it: quranbook does not store or log it.
Syncing bookmarks with a code
If you create or enter a sync code, your bookmarks — the verse or page each one marks, its label and when it was saved, and the bookmarks you removed — are stored on quranbook.ai under that code, so your other devices can fetch them. Nothing else is stored with them: no name, no email, nothing that identifies you. A set that is not used for 400 days is deleted.
The code itself is the only key to the set. Anyone who has it can read and change those bookmarks, so share it only with your own devices. Stopping sync on a device forgets the code there; the set remains for your other devices until it expires.
iCloud, in the app
The app keeps your bookmarks, highlights, place, opened studies, sync code and reading settings the same on your iPhone and iPad through your own iCloud account. That data is stored by Apple in your iCloud, under Apple's privacy terms; quranbook cannot read it. You can turn it off on any device under Saved.
Hosting
quranbook.ai is served by Cloudflare. Like any host, Cloudflare processes technical information such as IP addresses in order to deliver pages and protect the site; seeCloudflare's privacy policy. quranbook adds no tracking of its own.
Children
quranbook collects no personal information from anyone, children included, and has nothing to sign up for.
